There are currently five playable characters (called valkyries) with a unique starting loadouts. Each character can unlock a starting ultimate and secondary Abilities:

  • Secondary ability: defeat Nidhogg with that character on any difficulty.
  • Ultimate ability: defeat Nidhogg with that character on Hard.

  • Can jump repeatedly to fly, hold jump to glide, and is less affected by gravity.
  • Cannot increase their max HP or gain armor.
  • Can survive a fatal blow with the following items/abilities: ItemReviveChest.png Lion Heart, SecondaryManaShield.png Valkyrie's Veil or SecondaryBlockArm.png Block. Currently SecondaryUnrelenting.png Undying Strength prevents death for other characters, but not Odr.
